How to Change from a Pessimist to an Optimist!

by: Kenia Morales

Do you always see things from a negative perspective? Do not worry! You do not have to be a pessimist for the rest of your life. You have the power to turn your life around. I know you maybe thinking Kenia why would I want to change myself?
The problem with negative thinking is that you are always going to be stuck on the wrong side. What I mean is that whenever you have a dream or illusion you will ONLY foresee a negative outcome and stop before even trying. In return you are going to end up as an unsuccessful and worst unfulfilled person. Not a desirable outcome at all!
So, here are some tips that can help you change your overall outlook on life. No, they are not Feng Shui or Buddhism although some of the tips may seem similar. These are some behaviors that I have employed in my life and so far have worked. Yes! I am a pessimist anonymous in recovery but, fortunately I have learned that life can be much better. Here are some hints that can help you turn your life around:
Inspirational Content: I am a junkie for inspirational material. When ever I feel a little on the other side I search for inspirational articles or read books that I may have around.
A Thank You Journal: Everyday I write what I am thankful for. It is not long at all. I would be surprise if I write more than four lines. But, I believe it does wonders. Make sure you resist the temptation to complaint.
Take time to rest and do things you enjoy.
Cite Positive affirmations.
Take care of yourself. Eat healthy, exercise and drink plenty of water. This will not only help you look better but, you will have more energy and feel great.
Maintain your home clean: Notice how different you feel in a clean environment versus a cluttered or messy place.
Visualize and write down goals: As often as possible. This will help you materialize your dreams and keep them in mind.
Good luck,
Kenia Morales
